Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

This week and next are full of activities at the Whitehall Community Library. Many have noticed that the stairway and children's areas are getting a new look, as artist Teresa Young is painting a full-scale mural on the new office wall and sunflowers down the stairs. With all the snow falling this year, it makes things so cheerful to see all the bright colors, which give hope of warm weather and spring.

Our first Teen History Book Club meets on Friday, February 21st, at 1 PM. The History Book Club will meet on Monday, February 24th, at 5 PM. The County Library Board will meet in Whitehall on Thursday, February 20th, at 6:30 PM.

Back by popular demand is Homeschool Moms' Night Out. It will meet this month on Thursday, February 20th, at 6 PM. There will be snacks, games, and time to share the joys and challenges of home education. This is adult time for fun, so kids should spend an evening with another adult. This monthly gathering will allow any homeschool parent to network, explore lesson ideas, and enjoy others.

Our Vet Talk will be on Wednesday, February 26th, at 1:30 PM. This time is set aside for veterans and their families to ask questions, enroll in programs, and meet those who can help with issues particular to those who have served. You can make an appointment or visit someone who can find answers. There is no charge to ask questions, and this program is done once a month, so there is plenty of time for everyone.

We are not getting rid of our maker space activities; Miss Brandi is just combining them with the homeschool roundup. The programs cover the same kinds of things, and having two separate names is confusing to some. From now on, the calendar will list Homeschool Roundup at 2 PM on Thursdays. Any elementary-age child is welcome to come and discover all types of experiments, STEM activities, and more.

Our Cupid Crew delivered 80 roses to seniors for Valentine's Day. With the cold weather, we lost a few to freezing temperatures, but the rest went out just fine. The cards made by area children and the flowers brightened the day for our beloved elderly citizens. Thanks to everyone who helped cut thorns off, wrap up bundles, and deliver everything!

Miss Brandi and I are still moving into our office space. We now have an official sign on the door for times when there are meetings or virtual training sessions happening. Everyone is always welcome to pop in and see the new digs as well as ask questions. Everyone has desk time so that patrons will see all of us during the day!
