The Whitehall Study Commission will be mailing out questionnaires to all postal patrons in the Whitehall Post Office area. Originally these questionnaires were planned to be released this week; however, they will now be mailed in March. Each questionnaire will be addressed to the postal customer registered to that post office box.
The Local Government Review process is complicated; its scope and intent are easily misunderstood. But it’s important to know that the review is not a platform for airing discontent or mobilizing change in the ways that citizens sometimes think it wants it to be. Many of the misconceptions about what the process is and what it can do stem from a desire to use the process to address complaints with politics, policy, or personality that are outside the legally defined scope of the process.
Local input is important to understand what could be done to improve the operation of the Whitehall government. The Whitehall Study Commission is seeking resident’s thoughts on improving the operation of Whitehall government. You can either return the questionnaire to the Whitehall Town Hall at 207 E. Legion, mail it directly to the Whitehall Study Commission at PO Box 83, Whitehall, MT 59759, or email your response to whstudycom@gmail.com. If you have any questions, Study Commission Jim Buterbaugh may e contacted at 406-491-6995.
The Study Commission invites comments and ideas from those in town and in the outlying areas. Keep an eye out on your post office box, as questionnaires will be released at the beginning of March.
