Council Holds Brief January Catch-Up Meeting

The Whitehall Town Council held a quick catch-up meeting on Monday, January 27th, after they did not have a quorum during their regularly scheduled monthly meeting for January (which was also moved to a day later due to Martin Luther King Jr. Day.)

A business license was approved for Highway 55 Auto & Truck Repair, though StarrBuds' request for a cannabis dispensary business license was tabled, as a variance from the required 500 feet from a public building will need to be submitted. The proposed location (13 E. Legion) is roughly 80 feet short of this requirement from the Whitehall Public Works building.

Jeannie Ferriss and Jenna Gill were appointed to the Whitehall Planning Board; Devon Beth and Connor Owens were approved as volunteer firefighters; Heaven Lee was approved to the Whitehall Study Commission after Tiffany McCue’s resignation; Sarah Unruh was approved as Town Clerk after Sherry Williamson’s resignation.

The Whitehall Rodeo was approved for a checking account with two designated signatures required, as well as a purchase order approval system in place.

The next meeting of the Whitehall Town Council will be held at the Town Hall at 7 PM on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
