Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Between the Stacks: 1/8/2025

I hope everyone has recovered from all of the fun holiday activities. The Whitehall Community Library is easing back into the winter programming schedule, and calendars are at the front desk. We have a new winter reading program called "Who Read It?" Patrons keep track of their reading time and turn sheets in for clues. The clues help participants discover which staff member is reading which book. There are clues for all four staff and clues for which adult or children's/YA books they read. If patrons figure out who is reading what,t they get a prize. Reading sheets are available at the front desk.

We still have openings in our folk art painting class with Joan Dedycker. This is a fun way to enjoy a snowy afternoon with friends, creating something beautiful. The library supplies everything budding artists need to complete their projects. Call us at 287-3763 to sign up. The class started on January 7th at 2 PM, but many could not attend due to the weather.

The library will again this year be delivering 125 roses around town to our shut-in seniors to remember them on Valentine's Day. If you know of someone who would enjoy a long-

stemmed rose on that day, please call the library to reserve one for them. There will be no Homeschool Roundup or STEM classes until the week of January 23rd as Miss Brandi will be training and then out of the building for several weeks. Don't worry, she will be back, but we will go crazy without her.

The Girl Scouts will have their registration meeting on January 22 from 4-6 PM in the library basement. This is an organizational meeting, and all girls and parents are welcome

to attend.

Rockhounding will meet on January 13th at 5 PM. This is the first meeting of the new year, and new participants are always welcome. You don't have to have an extensive knowledge of geology, but this is great chance to learn from others about the many places to find fossils, different rock formations, and more from those who want to share their information.

Just a note for the calendar, the library will be closed January 20th in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. We will be open regular hours for the rest of the week; the book drop is

always open to the public if you need to return things.
