Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
U.S. Senator Steve Daines officially nominated six Montana students applying for enrollment into U.S. military academies on Monday, December 16, 2024.
"Montana has a long legacy of service, and it's one of my greatest honors to nominate the next generation of servicemembers for enrollment into our nation's great military academies. These young Montanans have earned remarkable grades, exhibited leadership skills, and have a passion for giving back to their country. I wish them the best as they embark on the next step toward their bright future of service," said Daines.
A congressional nomination is a critical step in the process for Montanans seeking admission to the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, or the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point.
Students interested in applying for a nomination from the Senator were required to submit an extensive application that documents their academic, civic, and athletic abilities, as well as their commitment to military service. An academy selection board assembled by Daines reviewed the applications and interviewed the applicants.
Below is the list of Daines' principal academy nominations:
Colter Zenner, principal Nominee for the U.S. Naval Academy
Miles Weber, principal Nominee for the U.S. Air Force Academy
Ethan Wock, principal Nominee for the U.S. Military Academy
Jared Boetticher, Nominee for the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy
William Zink, Nominee for the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy
Wyatt Jensen, Nominee for the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy
