Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Laura Catherine Capp, 97

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our loving Mother, Laura Catherine Capp. She was born June 20, 1927, in Butte, Montana; she passed away November 22, 2024, in the Butte hospital. She was raised in McQueen, Butte, MT, and married Vincent Capp on June 20, 1946. They have resided in Whitehall since their marriage.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents Katie (Bugni) and Guido Palagi, sister Louise Pelletier, and brother Larry Palagi.

Mom is survived by her son, Richard Capp (Nora) of Whitehall, MT; daughters, Patricia Bowman (Mike) of Billings, MT; and LouAnn Schielke (Dale) of Richland, WA. She is also survived by six grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was a loving and very busy ranch wife and a wonderful cook for many ranchhands. Flower gardens and bowling were her special passions.

She was a long-time active member of the St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Whitehall, singing in the church choir and serving in the Ladies Auxiliary. She also volunteered for over 30 years at the Whitehall Country Store, contributing her time to the Whitehall Ambulance Fund.

She was a master of the card game Shanghai and could play for hours with family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Teresa's on November 27, 2024, with interment following in the Whitehall Cemetery.

Mom will be greatly missed by all her loved ones. We are sure she has a place singing in the Choirs of Heaven.
