Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
Dear Editor,
After reading the scathing letter regarding Senator Tester in last week's Whitehall Ledger, it is time for the other side of the coin.
Tester is bipartisan, voting twenty times for Trump bills, and yes, he did vote in favor of the Keystone. To say different is false.
Certain bills that are voted NO on are not always stand-alone issues. On the plus side, Mr. Tester voted for Mcool, and his opponent is on record saying it is OK for packers to mix foreign beef with domestic.
Tester succeeded in overturning a Biden plan to allow Peruvian beef imports and creating a special investigator to investigate monopoly meat packers. He also voted for the 2021 program to help create more local meat processors and sponsored the Right to Repair Act.
Tester also voted for the Pact Alt and is chairperson of the Senate Veterans Committee-think the new veteran's home in Butte. He also voted for rural infrastructure, securing $2.8 billion for Montana roads, $65 billion for broadband, and $1 billion for rural water.
Unlike his op[ponent, he does not disparage people of different ethnic backgrounds - his opponent was called out for it but still did not have the courage to apologize.
Best of all, Tester was given an "F" by the NRA, proving he is not careless with a firearm; if you shoot yourself, you get an "A."
