CORPS OF DISCOVERY: Whitehall town historian Roy Millegan and June Severance were two Whitehall residents who attended the Lewis & Clark Community Planning Workshop, held in Whitehall, on Thursday, October 21. About 35 participants representing more than a half dozen southwestern Montana communities attended the meeting, one of six regional Lew3is & Clark planning meetings in the state. The meetings, sponsored by Travel Montana within the Montana Department of Commerce, the Lewis & Clark Bicentennial Commission, Montana Small Business Development Centers, and the Montana State University Extension office, provided meeting participants with a resource directory to analyze, strengthen, and expand tourism op[portunities in their communities.

Whitehall area residents will have an opportunity to learn more about - and comment on - a proposal to build a rest stop at the Whitehall/I-90 interchange at a public meeting on Thursday, Oct. 28. The lot on the northeast section of the interchange was a possible location for a rest area.
