Dear Editor: Tester Works Hard For Montanans

Dear Editor,

As a lifelong Montanan and rancher, I have seen how hard U.S. Senator Jon Tester has worked on behalf of Montana. A third-generation dirt farmer from Big Sandy, Tester is the only farmer in the Senate, making him a strong, knowledgeable voice for family farmers and ranchers.

Senator Tester has a proven record of getting results for a wide array of Montana residents and issues. Veterans, educators, retirees, and those needing help finding affordable housing have all received his help. He has worked especially hard to defend Social Security and Medicare, earning the endorsement of multiple groups representing Montana’s older community.

When first elected to the Senate in 2006, Tester brought experience from service in the Montana Legislature where he was an effective and respected member who moved up into leadership. He also took to Washington DC a sense of fairness fostered by his Montana roots. He believed Montanans ought to know what he was working on and was the first member of the Senate to post his daily schedule.

Senator Tester gets Montana and he gets how to produce results in Washington. Though he is a Democrat, he managed to get more than 20 bills signed by Republican

President Donald Trump. His seniority has allowed him to take on leadership roles that pay off for Montanans.

Jon understands how to work across the aisle when it is in the best interest of Montanans. His opponent seems to believe that being a warrior will make him a good senator. Is that what the Senate really needs, more fighting?

Send Senator Tester back to Washington where he can continue to truly serve the needs of Montanans.
