But What Is It? Third Graders Guess Mystery Item

Third grade students from Whitehall Elementary School will visit the Jefferson Valley Museum for their first field trip of the year October 3, 2024.

Prior to their museum field trip, a mystery item from the museum’s thousands of artifacts was placed in their classroom. Students were allowed to touch the museum artifact and try and figure out its purpose and how to use it.

MRS. MCLEAN’S CLASS:

• It is an old-fashioned phone. You would plug in the cord and use the circle spinny thing to call your friend. Shiloh Domnitz

• It is a telephone, and you put numbers in, and you call them. If it doesn’t work, you can use it for an antique. Ronan Ball
