It should be a wonderful evening of poetry and fun.
Chris La Tray is a member of the Little Shell Tribe of Chippewa Indians of Montana and was named Montana's Poet Laureate for 2023-2024. Raised in Frenchtown, Montana, he now resides in Missoula. His first book "One Sentence Journal: Short Poems and Essays From the World at Large" was the 2018 Montana Book Award winner. The Montana Library Association gives the award. His latest book "Becoming Little Shell" came out in August, and the library will receive a copy soon. For more information, contact the library at 287-3763.
Our first Homeschool Mom Roundup will be this Thursday, September 26th, at 6 PM. This group will share information, tips, field trip sites, and more as they navigate home education in the Whitehall area.
The History Book Club will meet next week, on September 30th, at 5 PM. This month, they will discuss a book about a country they have always wanted to visit. The books could be historical fiction, biographies, travel books, histories of the country, or anything else pertaining to the country they selected. Anyone may join the club at any time, as the subject for discussion differs each month.
The staff is having so much fun with the new copier. One of the great features is that patrons may now connect to the printer on most phones. We have had a few issues not being able to connect, but the majority of patrons are now able to come and print right from their phones.
Staff is also catching up on copies for craft programs, storytimes, and more. Thank you to everyone who was so patient as we created solutions to send faxes, make copies, and scan before the new machine arrived!
