The Mint Bar in Whitehall was burglarized again during the early morning hours of Thursday, September 16, just three days after burglars had robbed the business early on September 13th.
Four young Whitehall pianists performed at Butte Plaza Mall on Saturday, September 11, as part of a Music Education Fair. Kristin Robbins, Janet Drake, Laura Dillon, and Anna Marx - students of Donna Weldon at Musical Moments Studio - all performed during the fair.
Whitehall High School Student of the Week was Jennifer Williams. She was selected for her great attitude and scholarship in French II. Teacher Susie Tilton-Chiovaro says Jennifer “is academically and personally an outstanding young woman.” Jennifer, a junior, is the daughter of Jim and Judiann Williams and plans to major in medicine in college. She enjoys skiing, tennis, cross country, and attending Butte Irish hockey games.
Whitehall High School's Athlete of the Week was senior Logan Nelson, who came off the bench and provided some much-needed offense and defense against Three Forks and Townsend. Girls’ basketball coach Julie Kieckbusch says, “Logan was an instrumental part of both victories.” Logan is the daughter of Mark and Teri Nelson. She plans to attend college and enjoys basketball and track.
The WHS Creative Leader of the Week was senior Tanner Gooch. Tanner is the WHS Student Council president, elected last spring by his peers, and is currently working on homecoming 1999 activities. He is the son of Bill and Chris Gooch and plans to attend college at the University of Wyoming in Laramie to major in archeology. Tanner enjoys hunting and fishing.
