Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
We all love technology when it works and want to melt it down into toasters when it doesn’t! After what seems like forever, though it has not really been that long, the Whitehall Community Library is getting a new copier, fax machine, and scanner all rolled into one! You will probably hear the library staff cheering all over town when it arrives; until then, we can scan, fax, or make copies at the library, but only in small quantities.
If you have art-oriented children, this week's Art Camp program starts on Thursday at 3:30 PM. The camp is open to children in grades K-4, and the Library will provide all of the supplies. This week, Makerspace will begin at 2 PM, right before Art Camp. Patrons are welcome to attend both programs for an afternoon of fun and learning.
The Friends of the Whitehall Community Library will meet on Thursday, September 12, at 5:30 PM. They have changed the meeting time to allow working members to attend without missing any important information. The Friends do many things for the Library, and if you are new in town, this is a wonderful way to meet new people and get involved in the community.
Mystery Book Club will meet on Tuesday, September 17th at 5 PM. With all of the interest in mysteries among our readers, this is a great chance to come and discuss a favorite author, learn about new releases, and meet other mystery enthusiasts. Robotics and Kid's Quilting start this week on Friday, with Robotics at 2 PM and Kid's Quilting at 3 PM. Miss Brandi has all sorts of new and exciting projects to explore the world of robotics. Kid's Quilting will begin with new projects for those who come for the first time, and returning group members will be finishing wall hangings.
Our favorite nurses come to the Library on Tuesdays from 12:30 PM to 1 PM to do free blood pressure checks. This is a great time to sneak in and get your blood pressure checked during lunch or right after.
With so many programs and class visits going on, I want to remind everyone to please slow down at the crosswalk. Children are not always the best at checking both ways, and cars that zoom by going 10 or 20 miles an hour over the speed limit cannot stop in time. Please help us keep our littlest readers safe!
