Dear Editor: Write-In Candidate Reilly Neill for MT Second Congressional District

When a Democratic candidate for U.S. Congress in Montana feels funding a campaign in our state is meaningless, it disenfranchises voters and undermines the democratic process.

On August 14, I officially filed a write-in campaign for Reilly Neill as a candidate in Montana’s Second Congressional District.

Voters deserve a choice on the ballot, someone fighting for them. They deserve a Democrat on the ballot elevating important issues and supporting a robust democracy.

The concerns of the farmers and ranchers of Montana affect the global food supply. We need to be listening to these concerns and representing them in Washington.

Montana feeds the world. Our communities and our economy depend on water and agriculture. I will be a champion for Montana stakeholders on these issues in Congress.

As a former State Representative, member of the Water Policy Interim Committee and longtime newspaper publisher, I will work effectively in Congress, from advocating for the St. Mary and Milk River projects to ensuring every citizen has access to rural healthcare and public schools.

The great strength of our state lies in the hearts of decent, caring citizens, when a neighbor walks across the road and says, “Need a hand? Here it is.”

We pull each other out of the ditch and we get ‘er done. We get past divisions and we get together for the common good.

I’ve raised my family here for nearly 25 years and Montana is part of who I am, part of who we all are. I hope to earn your vote and represent not just a choice on the ballot but the will of Montana.
