Madison County Fair This Week... Country Fans & Cattle Brands Starts Today!

The annual Madison County Fair & NRA Rodeo is held in Twin Bridges, Montana. Some of the following featured events that one may experience at the fair are 4-H, FFA, and Open Class exhibits, commercial exhibits, food vendors, a petting zoo, a wonderful playground for the little ones, an Open Youth Rodeo, two days of NRA Rodeo, entertainment, horseshoe tournament, team roping, barbecues, demolition derby, and parade. Also, enjoy a Ranch Rodeo, live music, and dancing!! There is no charge to get into the fair, but there will be a charge for the Rodeo and nighttime entertainment. All will enjoy a good time.

Wednesday, August 14, features a 4-H/FFA Sheep Show during the morning at the Friends Sale and Show Ring. During the day people can participate in the Market, Showmanship, and Breeding classes. Starting at 10 AM Open Class Rabbit and Poultry entries will be accepted. At noon, Open Class entries are accepted. During the afternoon, there will be a 4-H/FFA Goat Show at the Friends Sale and Show Ring. Market Classes, Showmanship, Dairy Classes, and Breeding Classes will commence, as well as Open Class Sheep entries will be accepted. Open Goat and Sheep Show will follow the 4-H Goat Show. 4-H/FFA Poultry & Rabbits must be checked in by this point as well. Later, at 7 PM, the Madison County Fair Barrel Race will begin, with the Shooting Sports Awards Ceremony at the Jeffers Building also.

Thursday, August 15, starts at 7 AM sharp, with the 4-H/FFA Swine Show at the Friends Sale and Show Ring will continue. At 10 AM Open Class FFA Judging (4 H Building) Open and 4-H/FFA Poultry Pen Judging begins. The Adventure Zone is fun from 10 AM to fair closing. At 10 AM the Commercial Buildings are Open/Open Class Entries Accepted—Brown Building/Pavilion. At 11 AM, 1 PM, and 3 PM, the Animal Track Outreach Presentation will be at the Pavilion. Bingo will be at the Pavilion from noon to 6 PM. The 4-H/FFA Rabbit Show starts at 3 PM at South End of Poultry/Rabbit Barn. The Open Class Rabbit Show is to be determined. Later a 4-H/FFA Poultry Showmanship at Friends Show Ring.

The Beer Gardens Opens at 4 PM, with a performance by the Ramblin’ Rose Drill Team following. At 7 PM, the Rookie Saddle Bronc/Bareback Riding Contest will start as well as the Jacobs Livestock Rodeo. Wrapping up the night at 9 PM, do not miss the opportunity to participate in Wild Cow Milking in the Arena! This is the same time as Winnie Brave at the Beer Garden Stage.

Friday, August 16, the morning kicks off with Ultrasound market animals in order of Swine, Sheep, Goats, and Beef. Then, starting at 8 AM, the NRA Rodeo Slack Time at Grandstands Arena and the 4-H/FFA Beef Show at the Beef Barn Arena with Showmanship Classes, Breeding Classes, and Market Classes. The Open Class Judging begins at 8:30 AM.

At 10 AM, the Commercial Buildings and the Adventure Zone will open. At 11 AM, 1 PM, and 3 PM, the Animal Track Outreach Presentation will be at the Pavilion. Once again, Bingo will be held at the Pavilion from noon to 6 PM. Starting at 2 PM, there will be a Stick Horse Rodeo at Friends Show Arena, bouncy horse races, and even a watermelon eating contest!

From 3 PM to 8 PM Dead Man’s Chest, an Escape Room, will entertain all. The Hog Scramble at the Friends Show and Sale Arena is at 3 PM, with the Beer Garden opening at 4 PM, along with the Round Robin Showmanship Competition at the Friends Arena. Ramblin’ Rose Drill Team will perform on Friday as well. At 7 PM, the Rookie Saddle Bronc and Bareback Riding Contest will begin, along with Jacobs Livestock Rodeo. A family dance will be held at the Jeffers Building from 8 PM to 11 PM. Wild Cow Milking will also be held at the Arena at 9 PM. The Brandon Hale and the Dirty Shame will also commence at 9 PM at the Beer Garden Stage.

Saturday, August 17, Kickstart the morning at 8 AM with a sign-up for the horseshoe tournament (AMATEURS ONLY) at the horseshoe pit, with the tourney starting at 9 AM. The 4-H/FFA Market Animal Sale and Jr. Leader Champion Cake Sale starts at 10 AM., with the Commercial Building and the Adventure Zone open then. The afternoon also features the Animal Track Outreach Presentation, Bingo at the Pavilion, Magic by Walt, and the Dead Man’s Chest escape room.

Starting at 12:30 PM enjoy a BBQ from the Buyer Appreciation behind the Grandstands. A “Small” Equine Demonstration (Steer Barn arena)will be at 2 PM, with the Beer Gardens opening at 4 PM, followed by the Ruby Valley FFA Tractor Pull at 4:30 PM. The Ranch Hand Rodeo begins at 7 PM. Dan Henry will be at the Beer Garden Stage at 9 PM. Top off the night with a Youth Dance at Jeffers Building until midnight.

Sunday, August 18: The Twin Bridges Volunteer Fire Department Pancake Breakfast at the Fire Hall will run from 6:30 AM to noon. At 9 AM the Commercial and Open Class buildings open and Cowboy Church Service at the Jeffers Building. At 10:30 AM the fair parade begins with the theme “Country Fans and Cattle Brands.” The Fair, Adventure Zone, and all exhibits will close at 11 AM.
