Clara Myrstol This Year's Frontier Days Parade Grand Marshall

On October 1, 2023, Clara Myrstol, daughter of Montana Rawson and Blaine Myrstol, was life-flighted to Primary Children's in Salt Lake City, UT, where she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).

She went through four rounds of chemotherapy, followed by an allogeneic stem cell transplant on February 28, 2024. She was discharged from the hospital to outpatient care twenty-two days later.

Clara returned home to Whitehall, Montana, on June 5th and rang the bell on June 10th, signifying the completion of her treatment.

Since then, she has continued to amaze her medical team with her progress. To protect against the FLT3 gene mutation strain of AML, she will be on a maintenance study drug until April 2025. She was just promoted to monthly checkups rather than every two weeks.

In the words of her bone marrow physician, Clara is doing fantastic and a miracle to which we give God all the glory.

Montina stresses the importance of blood donation and being a match for donors in need. She explained that Clara had 23 platelet transfusions and three whole blood, though that is very few compared to many bone marrow recipients. Get your blood donation scheduled TODAY!

Clara is the definition of true Montana grit and Whitehall spirit. She is the 2024 Whitehall Frontier Days Parade Grand Marshall. Make sure to wave to her when she passes by in her 1934 Chevy Master!
