Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Between the Stacks: 7/17/2024

By the time you read this, only two weeks of summer reading will be left! I cannot believe that! We received the most marvelous box in the mail from the Osa and Martin Safari Museum in Chanute, Kansas. It is filled with African toys, instruments, masks, and more for our program on Wednesday, July 24, at 10:30 AM. Everyone will have a chance to try out the drums, finger pianos, and masks!

We are excited to have our favorite magician in the house this week! Kyle will be here on Wednesday, July 17th, at 10:30 AM to entertain, amaze, and mystify everyone with his feats of magic! He always needs assistants to help with his illusions, so he must be ready to help confuse and baffle the audience.

Just a note for our preschool moms: the preschool art class on Tuesdays at 11 AM is open to any preschooler who would like to come and make great works of art. They can also attend if you have a kindergartener home for the summer.

Maker Space is going strong, and Miss Brandi wanted everyone to know there is room for more. They explore all types of science, art, robotics, math, engineering, technology, and other projects to inspire children to try new and different projects. Maker Space meets on Fridays at 2 PM.

Don't forget to turn in your summer reading sheets for prizes. You don't have to wait for the entire sheet to be completed. You can receive prizes after completing each section. Everything is arriving for the store, and the basement is full of fun things the staff can't wait to give away.

August is our month to clean the library, put all the sections in order, process new books for the fall, and plan the fall calendar. We have several ideas for new programs and maybe a few more adult craft classes. If you have an idea for a program that would be fun to do at the library, please let us know at 406-287-3763!
