Observe a Bird Banding Station: July 8, 15 and 26, 8 AM - 11 AM. Observe a bird banding station in action! Montana WILD and Spring Meadow Lake State Park are thrilled to host six bird banding events throughout the summer with public opportunities to observe birds - and scientists - up close! Montana WILD staff and volunteers will provide education for adults and kids at the events. Those interested in dropping by can meet at the gazebo on the back lawn of Montana WILD. No registration is required for these free programs!
Water Recreation Festival: Wednesday, July 10, 4 PM - 7 PM. Join us for a free afternoon of fun while exploring new activities out on the water including kayaking, fishing, rafting, and education for all ages! No registration is required.
Bat Walk: Friday, July 12, 9 PM - 10:30 PM. Come and explore the fascinating world of bats! After a brief bat presentation in our auditorium, we will walk down to Spring Meadow Lake where participants will search for bats and use special equipment to hear their echolocation as they navigate and forage over the lake!
Snakes of Montana: Tuesday, July 16, 2 PM - 2:40 PM. Join us to learn about the snakes that live in Montana and meet a live snake; all on World Snake Day!
Raptors of Montana: Wednesday, July 31, 4 PM - 5 PM. We will learn about the amazing raptor species that call Montana home by investigating what makes them unique and why they are so important to our ecosystems. And of course, meet some live raptors! A portion of this program will be outdoors, so dress for the weather!
Montana Wild is located at 2668 Broadwater Ave., just off U.S. Highway 12 West near Spring Meadow Lake State Park.
