Dear Editor: Rob Quist Evening Successful

Dear Editor,

Thanks to all the Jefferson County folks who came to hear the music and speeches at Tings in Jefferson City on Saturday, June 22nd. Rob Quist is the Montana Poet. His songs highlight the Montana we love: wide open spaces, our native heritage, Charlie Russell, and loving and living off the land. His long-time bandmate David Griffith is a master of seven different instruments but wowed the crowd with his steel guitar.

Former Governor Brian Schweitzer informed the crowd of the notice given to the Governor's Office regarding property tax appraisals long before the Legislature convenes and corrections were presented to the current Governor, who chose to ignore them. He also offered his veto brand to the next Governor of the Legislature, tried to meddle in our personal lives, and made laws that are "none of the government's business."

I introduced Governor Schweitzer as a politician who embodies my brand of Montana politics. "It's not what's good for Democrats or what's good for Republicans, but what's good for Montanans."
