Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Between the Stacks: 5/29/2024

Eric Beale will be at the Whitehall Community Library on Wednesday, May 29th, from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM from the Montana Department of Military Affairs/ Montana Veterans Affairs Division to share different services to our veterans in Whitehall and the surrounding area. He will be coming to the library on the last Wednesday of the month to help veterans with anything they need assistance with or have a chance to meet veterans so they will have someone to contact if needed.

The Holocaust Book Discussion is canceled for May 30th due to the Library Board Meeting moving to that night in Boulder. I must attend as the meeting will include the library's budget for 2024-2025. However, the Holocaust Book Discussion will meet on June 27th at 6 PM. I am sorry for any inconvenience this causes for our regular group.

We are counting down to the start of Summer Reading! Everything begins the week of June 10th and will run through July 31st. Our Summer Feeding program will run on the same dates except for Fridays and holidays. Anyone from birth to 18 may pick up a free lunch, no questions asked. Just a reminder, we will be closed for the Fourth of July.

If you want to sign up for the Kid's Quilting or Dot Folk Art painting class, this is the week to do it. Both classes have limited space, and we want to ensure enough materials for everyone. The library provides everything you need for both classes.

Preschool parents may wonder when story time is this summer. We are offering two separate storytimes starting June 13. Storytimes will be on Thursdays at 11 AM and Fridays at 10:30 AM. On Tuesdays at 11 AM, our preschool art program will be held for our littlest artists.

Maker Space workshops will be on Fridays at 2 PM. Students from first to eighth grade are welcome to come and explore all types of science, art, craft, and other imaginative areas through making and creating different projects.

As always, we ask everyone to be extra careful when driving around the library in the summer. We have children coming in and out of the building at all hours, especially during programming times. With so many cars going in and out, it is easy to miss little ones trying to cross the street!
