SILVERWOOD OR BUST: The Whitehall Middle School Band traveled to the Music in the Parks competition on May 18th. The band brought home the first-place award in Concert Band 1A.

The Whitehall Middle School Band traveled to Spirit Lake, Idaho, on Saturday, May 18, to compete in the Music in the Parks program. The group was awarded First Place in Concert Band 1A.
Music In The Parks is an educationally focused music festival that allows school performing ensembles to learn from exceptional conductors in music education today. The festival's mission is to bring together student musicians and adjudicator-clinicians for performances, with the result being musical growth, achievement, and recognition for both the individuals and the participating music programs.
Music In The Parks was founded by Dr. James Wells in 1981, and along with Festivals of Music and EPN Travel Services, it is part of the Educational Programs Network.
After their performance, the kids and their chaperones spent the afternoon having fun and attending an awards ceremony at Silverwood Theme Park.
