Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
The Jefferson Valley Museum will open for its 29th season on Saturday, May 25th, and will be open for visitors on Monday, May 27th. Regular open hours are noon to 4 PM, Tuesday through Sunday. Displays are always being updated, so even if a visit was made within the past couple of years, there will be new items to see. Museum volunteers are often at the museum on Monday afternoons, and this is a good time to drop off artifacts or learn more about the museum. The last day of regular operation for 2024 will be Sunday, September 15. Special group tours can still be scheduled after volunteers are available.
The Jefferson Valley Museum is staffed entirely by community volunteers. Financial support comes mostly from museum members and memorials. Large projects are often funded through grants. Local people interested in area history are encouraged to become volunteers and help visitors learn more about our valley. Most volunteers give four hours during the summer season, one day per week. For additional information, visit the Museum's Facebook page; website (jeffersonvalleymuseum.org); or call the office at 406-287-7813. The Museum is located at 303 South Division Street on the south side of Whitehall.
