Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Marigail Anne Schreiner, 75

On May 6th, 2024, Marigail Anne Schreiner gained her wings after battling health issues in Helena, Montana.

Marigail was born on April 16, 1949, in Livingston, Montana, to Ethel and Clyde Prewett. She grew up in the Swan and graduated from Hellgate High School in Missoula, Montana, in 1967. She was the middle child of three. She started her family in 1973 with the birth of her daughter Angel. In 1976, she had her second child, Joe. She strived daily to provide and raise her children as a single mom with immense love.

In 1990, she met her husband and other half, Michael Schreiner. Together, they shared many adventures, from canning and 4-wheeling to hunting and fishing. Fishing was, by far, her favorite pastime. In her life with Michael, she gained a wonderful family, starting with Michael Senior and Shirley Schreiner, who were a very big part of her life, along with many sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephews.

In 1998, she became a grandma, for the first time, to Hunter. In 2001, she had her first granddaughter, Makenna. In 2009, she gained another granddaughter, Hannah, and grandson, J.T. Also in 2009, her last grandson, Caden, was born.

Marigail and Michael spent as much time as they could with family, making memories of hunting, fishing, doing cookouts, taking drives, rafting the river, or just sitting by a campfire in Clancy, Helena, Whitehall, and South Dakota. She traveled with Michael every year to South Dakota to see her most loved fishing partner, Michael Schriener senior, who was a father to her. This was one of her favorite times of the year.

Marigail had many careers in her lifetime. She worked as a waitress, a secretary in the Helena Legislature, and a paralegal. She worked for Gallik Law under Dave Gallik as a paralegal from 1999 until 2024, when illness took over.

Marigail lived life to the fullest with immeasurable love, perseverance, strength, and integrity. She will be missed more than can ever be put into words. We will love you to our last breath and carry you in our hearts forever.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ethel Prewett; father, Clyde Prewett; sister, Patricia Pitcher; grandsons, Hunter Adams and J.T. Corbett; and mother-in-law, Shirley Schreiner.

She is survived by her husband Michael J. Schreiner, brother Douglas Prewett, daughter Angel Adams (Lance), son Joe Barham (Tonya), granddaughter Makenna Adams, granddaughter Hannah Corsie, grandson Caden Barham, father-in-law Michael P. Schreiner, and many sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephews-in-law.

A memorial service celebrating Marigail's life will be at 11 AM on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Avenue in Helena. A reception for family and friends will follow in the funeral home's social center. Her cremated remains will be interred at the Whitehall Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be made to a benefit fund for the family of Marigail Schreiner, c/o Valley Bank of Helena; 3030 N. Montana Avenue; Helena, MT 59601; or an organization of the donor's choice.
