Larry Joseph Weidinger, 89

Larry Joseph Weidinger departed this world for a "Better Place" on Wednesday, May 08, 2024, at the age of 89. Larry was born on December 12, 1934, to parents Joseph Weidinger and Lois (Jones) Weidinger in Billings, Montana. The family farmed near Pompeys Pillar, Montana, and Larry was the oldest of nine children.

During his early years, Larry's family also lived in/near Fromberg, and Larry graduated from high school in Edgar, Montana. About a year later, Larry joined the United States Marine Corps and proudly served for three years as an aircraft radar technician from 1953 to 1956, including deployments to Korea and Japan. Larry also worked for Boeing in Seattle for about a year after his military service.

In 1959, a couple of significant things happened. Through a friend, Larry was introduced to work as a power construction lineman, a job he thoroughly enjoyed until his retirement in 1998. Also, in 1959, Larry met and married the love of his life, Mary Ann Schneider. The next few years saw multiple moves building power lines throughout Montana, eventually settling in Missoula, where they lived for 11 years. By 1964, Larry and Mary Ann had added four children to their family: Kelly, Kathy, Klint, and Kendal.

Though Larry continued in line work, in 1973 they made a big move and began ranching in Dell, Montana. Their children all graduated from Lima High School and the family loved this area and community. In 1984, Larry and Mary Ann moved to their current residence in Whitehall, Montana.

Larry is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Ann Schneider; daughter, Kelly Weidinger; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Kevin Stosich; sons Klint Weidinger and Kendal Weidinger; daughter-in-law Carla Wise; grandchildren Tyler (Kelli) Stosich, Tahnee (Brandon) Benson, Dillon (Stacey) Weidinger, Kylee (Logan) Garman, Sheridan Delzer and Laramie Delzer; great-grandchildren Marlowe, Maisie and Livia Benson, Carter and Harper Weidinger and Brody Stosich, sisters Sharon Erb and Marcia Klein, brothers John (Kathy) Weidinger, Gary (Geri) Weidinger and Dennis Weidinger, brother-in-law George McGrail, sister-in-law Susan (Tom) Zurbuchen, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and good friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Kathy, sister Joyce McGrail, sister and brother-in-law Connie and Larry Martin, brother-in-law Dick Klein, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Donna and Marvin Beck.

Services will be held at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Whitehall on Wednesday, May 15th, at 1 PM. Interment will be held at the Lima Cemetary at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to organizations of your choice.
