Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
This Thursday, May 9th, the Friends of the Whitehall Community Library will meet at 5 PM to review their new website. The website will launch in the next few weeks and feature our calendar, links to the catalog, and other items of interest. They will also discuss the summer Reading and Feeding Program, so if you would like to attend a Friends meeting, this is a great one to pop in on.
The Memory Café is back on Thursday! Dan and his crew from Montana State University will be here from 2 PM to 3:30 PM to share information, ideas, activities, and more for those facing memory loss due to aging, illness, or other causes. Caregivers may bring their charges to this wonderful afternoon of fun and learning. No sign up is needed, just come, and enjoy the café.
Curiosity Untamed has decided to meet on Monday afternoons at 1 PM through the summer. This is their regular meeting time during the year, and they are excited to keep learning and exploring. For more information about this wonderful program dealing with memory learning and training, please call the front desk at 287-3763.
Mark the calendar for the library's closing on May 27th for Memorial Day. We will be open the rest of the week at regular times but will be closed on Monday.
May and June calendars are out at the front desk. Multiple programs are going on for all ages during the Summer Reading Program. Some will require signing up due to limited space, such as the Kid's Quilting class, while most presentations are open to all. The storytimes will be based around our preschool groups but are open to everyone. For more information on the programs starting this summer, pick up a calendar at the front desk.
I love it when I discover that a great book I read is really a series with six other volumes! I just finished Murder in G Major, only to discover there are more of them. Reading a series, even for children, is a fun treat as readers can't wait to explore what happens next. It is so much fun to see patrons come up to the desk and ask me, "Did you know there are more of these?!" I alternate between children's, young adult, and adult series, yet I never tire of waiting for the next volume to come out. Stop by and try a series no matter what type of genre you enjoy, then get ready to wait for the next book impatiently.
