MATH-A-THONERS: A total of 24 Whitehall Elementary School fourth graders participated in a Math-a-thon to help raise funds for the St. Jude Children's Hospital. The students earned pledges for solving math problems. (Front, from left) Megan Simons, Kurtis Guarnero, Hilary Palakovich; (back, from left) Mannie Segovia, Katie Lemrick, and Justin Pogh were the top fundraisers, each with over $100. Segovia took top honors with $275 in pledges, followed by Pogh with $237. The Whitehall fourth graders raised a total of $1,800 for St. Jude.

For the first time in over a decade, Whitehall voters will be voting in a school mill levy election. The Whitehall School Board voted unanimously to place a WHS mill levy on the ballot. The amount of money sought, and the exact hike in mills are yet undetermined; Superintendent Paul Stremick said that the levy would be an increase of $24,000 in the worst-case scenario.
