The Whitehall youth accused of accosting a Three Forks volleyball player during the 4-B District Volleyball Tournament in Whitehall on March 5, 1999 was reportedly removed from the Whitehall school system, and on March 12 Jefferson County Attorney Valerie Wilson filed a petition against the youth for misdemeanor sexual assault.

The dispatch services agreement between Gail Giono of Whitehall and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office was formally signed by the Jefferson County Commission on March 3.

Whitehall Student of the Week was Morgan Bell. Art teacher Mike Battaiola nominated Morgan for his great pottery work in art class. Morgan is the son of John Bell and Jeanne Nelson, and has plans to attend college. He enjoys mechanics and off-road riding.

Whitehall Athletes of the Week were the Lady Trojan Volleyball Team members. The Whitehall Lady Trojan volleyball team powered their way to third place in the Southern B divisional tournament and earned a seventh straight appearance in the Montana State Class B Volleyball Tournament. Despite a lack of height and some unfortunate injuries, the Lady Trojans fashioned a 20-6 season record and had the potential to once again battle for a state volleyball championship.

WHS Creative Leader of the Week was Kevin Sacry. Choir director Mary Brazill said, "Kevin has a great attitude in choir, and is willing and reliable when participating in extra events. He also possesses a beautiful bass voice!" Kevin, a junior, is the son of Jim and Nancy Sacry. He enjoys sports, singing, and driving 100 mph.
