Trojans Basketball Take on Districts, Girls Come Up Just Short for Divisionals

The Whitehall Trojan men took on Lone Peak in the first game of the District tournament on Wednesday, February 14th. Lone Peak took home the win, 41-38. Whitehall led 25-22 entering the final eight minutes. Campbell Smith was a one-man show himself for the Trojans with 20 points.

The loss brought the Trojans to play on Saturday, February 17th against Jefferson. The Panthers fell behind by 14 at halftime and then overpowered the Trojans in the second half, winning 67-63.

The Whitehall Lady Trojans took on the Ennis Lady Mustangs on Thursday, February 15th in Game 3 of the Districts Tournament. The Mustangs started sluggishly, trailing 7-6 after one quarter, but dominated the second frame, toppling the Trojans 43-26.

The Ladies then moved on to play Lone Peak on Saturday, the 16th. Whitehall 56, Lone Peak 33: The Trojans jumped to a 16-8 lead and built the margin to 21 by halftime to end the season for the Bighorns, the Trojan Ladies winning 56-33. The Ladies then took on the Townsend Bulldogs but lost 58-31.
