The Library will be starting a new book club in February entitled “Silent Readers.” The idea is for anyone who would like to come to the Library and read without having to engage in lengthy conversations. This is a great opportunity for those who spend a great deal of time alone and would just like to be around people without having to do a lot of interacting with them. The club will begin on February 6th from 4 PM to 7 PM. There will be snacks, drinks, and of course, lots of books to read. There is no need to sign up, just come and enjoy the quiet.

The Holocaust Book Discussion Group will start on January 25th at 6 PM. This group learns about different aspects of the Holocaust through guest speakers, research projects, community presentations, book discussions, and lectures. This group is open to anyone high school age and older. Children 12 and up may attend with their parents or guardians. If you would like more information, please contact the front desk at 287-3763.

STEM Camp will be exploring how pullies work using cereal boxes. Anyone is welcome to come and learn with Miss Brandi on Thursday, January 18th at 2 PM. Other STEM Camp projects are weather (barometers, cloud making, and types of clouds), how circuits work, and 3D geometry.

Storytimes meet every Wednesday at 9:30 AM, 10:30 AM, and 1 PM, and on Fridays at 10 AM. Preschoolers and toddlers are welcome to come and do crafts, hear stories, sing songs, and enjoy physical games and activities.

The Rockhound Group will be meeting later this month as the Library was closed for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. They will be at the Library on Monday, January 22, at 5:30 PM.

The Library is part of the Cupid Crew and will be delivering flowers to single seniors for Valentine’s Day. The flowers come from a national program that distributes to senior ladies and shut-ins around the country who may not receive anything to celebrate this holiday of love. If you know of a senior lady who would love to have a special gift, please let the Library know so we can add them to the list.

If have any questions about any of the Library’s programs, please give us a call at 287-3763 or stop by during regular hours. The Library is open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 AM to 7 PM, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 AM to 7 PM, Fridays from 9 AM to 5 PM, and 9 AM to 1 PM.
