The Christmas Festival is around the corner and the Library will host its normal packed schedule of activities and treats. On Saturday, December 9th, the Library will be open from 9 AM to 4 PM and will begin the day with the Friends Book Sale at 9 AM. Books will be $1 a bag for the day. Children's crafts will go from 10 AM to noon. Children of all ages may come and create their own colorful Christmas stockings and ornaments. All materials will be provided by the Library.
Then at noon, the Winter Wear Giveaway will begin. Patrons may still donate gloves, hats, scarves, and slightly used coats to share with those in need. There is no paperwork to fill out, just come and select the items needed to guard against the winter weather. It is not too late to donate items for the giveaway, just drop them off at the front desk.
Santa will appear at the Library at 1 PM until 3 PM. Our Santa has been coming to the Library for over 20 years and loves every minute of it. Parents are invited to take pictures with Santa and their little ones. Also, from 1 PM to 3 PM, the Friends of the Library will be hosting their annual cookie reception upstairs. Come and have a treat with Santa and learn about the Friends.
STEM Camp is this Thursday, December 7th at 2 PM. Miss Brandi is always up to something scientific from cooking to rockets. There is no age limit and parents are encouraged to join in the fun. STEM Camp alternates with Homeschool Roundup every other week so there is always something to enjoy on Thursday afternoons.
The Friends of the Library will be meeting on December 7th at 5 PM to make final plans for the Christmas Fest. They will be hosting their annual reception from 1 PM to 3 PM and are collecting cookies for the afternoon.
Thank you to everyone who donated fabric and batting for our special Friday sewing project. The children have had a great time learning to match fabric, make blocks, and sew on a sewing machine. Thank you also to everyone who volunteered to finish projects or help during class!
Christmas is coming soon, and ideas are difficult sometimes to come up with the perfect gift. The Library is hosting an adult Christmas craft afternoon on December 13th at 2:30 PM. If you would like to join us, please call the Library at 287-3763 so we have enough supplies for everyone.
