Ledger Looking Back 25 Years: 11/11/1998

Meadowlark Manor, the assisted living facility under construction in Whitehall, was on schedule and within budget, which meant an anticipated grand opening early in 1999.

Several students in LeeAnn Gallagher's Whitehall High School communications class were published during the first quarter of school. Students published include Brigitte Harrington, a senior who is the daughter of Tom and Twila Harrington; Krystin Feight, a senior who is the daughter of Larry Feight and Donna Feight; Dani Schwarz, a senior who is the daughter of Dan and Virginia Schwarz; Jessica Bell, a junior who is the daughter of Bruce and Patty Bell; and Krystal Redmond, a junior who is the daughter of Jim and Sandy Rozan.

Whitehall Student of the Week was sophomore Lance Briggs. Lance was nominated by teacher Bill Herbolich, who says that Lance "is a very good math student with good work and study habits who always gives every task his best effort." Lance is the son of Dean and Wendy Briggs. He has plans to attend college after WHS. He enjoys music, basketball, and horses.

Whitehall Athlete of the Week was Lacie Richards. Lacie led the Trojans in scoring vs. Butte Central and Manhattan this past weekend, and Coach Kieckbusch says, "Her consistency on offense and defense will be key this weekend at the district tournament." Lacie, a junior, is the daughter of Doug and Jan Richards. Lacie enjoys playing volleyball, basketball, and soccer.

Whitehall Creative Leader of the Week was choir member Adam Engan chosen for being a "faithful and dedicated choir member." Choir director Mary Brazil says Adam has participated in many extracurricular choir events. Adam is a junior and the son of Rick and Kim Engan. He has plans to attend college in Idaho to study music. Adam enjoys singing, fishing, and road trips.
