Donald Thurlow Charles, 92

Donald Thurlow Charles was born September 9, 1931, in Glasgow, Montana. He was the oldest of four children born to Thurlow and Bertha Bella (Stevenson) Charles.

Don grew up on various family-owned cattle and horse ranches. He had a great love for horses that continued to the day he passed.

He spent several years in the U.S. Military in the Army. He was a Korean War Veteran and spent a year on the front lines as a demolition expert.

After returning from the war, he met the love of his life, Beverly Borchert in Chester, Montana. They were married in 1956 and had two daughters – Crescent Ann and Rhonda Fay.

Donald was a construction worker by trade. He worked on most of the skyscrapers in Seattle, Washington. In 1970 he moved with his family to Butte, Montana. He worked with Robert and Don Renz (R & R Construction) for about 50 years. Donald retired to go back to ranching until the end of his life.

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend to so many.

He will be greatly missed. His legacy will be remembered and live on in future generations.

Services to be held on Friday, November 10, 2023, at 1 PM. Viewing will begin at 12 PM noon at K & L/Brundage Mortuary in Whitehall, Montana.
