Whitehall Chamber Corner: Whitehall Chamber Announces "It's Small Business Season!" - Time to Shop Local

Whitehall Chamber is excited to announce Small Business Season! New this year, the Chamber is launching a program to support small businesses. Beginning on November 1st through December 22nd the Chamber will kick off its marketing efforts with Shop Local & Win in Whitehall. Get ready for a sleigh full of holiday joy! For every $25 you spend in Whitehall businesses, earn an entry to win festive weekly prizes. And guess what? Chamber Member shops gift you with extra chances, like snowflakes in a winter wonderland! The fun doesn't stop there, though. We've got four fabulous Weekly Drawings, plus a grand finale on December 29th that'll jingle all the way to your heart. Throughout the holiday shopping season, the Chamber is encouraging consumers to "Think Small" and earmark at least part of their holiday spending in support of local small businesses.

Whitehall Chamber's ED Chiara Schober shared, "Small business is the backbone of our economy. 64% of our new jobs in the US come from small businesses. When people spend their dollars locally, more money stays local. On average, for every $100 sent locally, $68 of that says here."

"By implementing Small Business Season, we hope to encourage people to patronize all sorts of small businesses this holiday. In addition to our wonderful retail options, there are dining establishments, personal service providers, and even local artisans who need our support. Small Business Season is a way to help our residents develop a better appreciation for how their spending affects our area and quality of life."

In addition to increased marketing efforts, the Chamber is planning the following events: Shop Local and Win in Whitehall, Elfie Selfies, Parade of Lights, and Whitehall's Christmas Festival Events & Vendor Market and is encouraging all businesses to participate in its efforts to raise awareness of how supporting small business improves the quality of life for the entire community. "All businesses need one another. There's a symbiotic relationship. But small business is the most endangered because many small businesses don't operate with large cash reserves. When costs skyrocket, they feel it," Schober said.

Elizabeth Pullman, owner of the Whitehall Ledger said, "We're excited to be a part of Small Business Season this year. The pandemic brought attention to local businesses and what we bring to the community and Small Business Season helps us get holiday shoppers excited about the unique experiences we offer."

The Whitehall Chamber of Commerce is challenging everyone in the area to support small businesses this holiday season. Together we can have it all in Whitehall!

Small Business Season™ is a free global marketing campaign created to help share the message and educate on the importance of supporting not just a local business, but our neighbors and friends. Small businesses support our community by creating jobs as well as donating to our non-profits, our youth organizations, and our local events. Together, let's help them thrive!
