Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Librarians love to snitch ideas from other libraries and share their ideas with others. I recently ended up on the St. Louis Public Library’s newsletter list;: I’m still not sure how. It gives all of the different programs they do during the week, future events, and relevant news. This fall we will be doing between 10 to 14 programs a week and having ideas from other libraries will help us vary and increase our programs so they never get stale. Coming up with different story time ideas, after school events, and adult programs always works the staff’s creativity and resources so checking out what others have had success with is a real help in our planning.

Speaking of programs, we are starting our full schedule this week. The calendar is full of children’s programs, storytimes, after school events, adult programs and homeschool roundups. STEM Camp returns as well as Pokemon Club and the Holocaust Project. More information on any of these series is available by calling the front desk at 287-3763 or stopping by the Library. All of our programs are free and open to the public.

There seems to be a mystery season in the publishing world. I have read Kate Carlisle’s “Dressed to Drill” the newest in the Fixer-Upper mysteries, Kathy Reich’s new Temperance Brennan novel “The Bone Hacker,” and Vicki Delany’s “Have Yourself a Deadly Little Christmas,” her newest Year-Round Christmas Mystery. Nev March has also added two books in her series featuring Captain Jim Agnihotri from “A Murder in Old Bombay” which I am excited to get in. Coming soon will also be the newest Lady Highcastle mystery, the next Alex Cross book, and others for mystery lovers. There is nothing like a good book when the weather gets wintery outside.

If you are a mystery fan and want to share your passion with others, come join the Mystery Book Club. The group meets the third Tuesday of every month at the Library to discuss the books they have read, get ideas for new authors, and discover the latest mysteries coming to print.
