Randy Kirk, 71

Randy Kirk, of Cardwell, Montana, age 71, passed away at his home on July 16, 2023.

Randy was born June 6, 1952, in Great Falls, Montana, to Cecil and Alice Kirk of Cascade, Montana. He attended school in Cascade and graduated in 1970.

In 1975 he married Bev Ballard of Whitehall, Montana, and upon finishing his journeyman lineman apprenticeship, he began working for Vigilante Electric Co-Op. After serving 11 years, he and his family began working towards a lifelong dream of ranching. They leased a ranch on the North Boulder for the next several years and then were employed by Bob Shadduck of Minnesota to manage the Mulvey Gulch Ranch. During the next 20 years, he devoted himself to building and developing a sustainable, holistic operation. In 2020 he and Bev retired to their home in Cardwell and enjoyed the remaining years spending time with family and friends.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, brother Lonn Kirk, and sister Marjorie Pickett.

He is survived by his wife Bev, daughter Axon (Dave) Parker and children Rowan, Auden, and Marilla of Cardwell; son Daniel (Anne) Kirk and children Phoebe, Benjamin, and Beatrice of Kalispell; and brother Doug of Billings.

Graveside services will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, July 25th, at the South Boulder Cemetery on Cemetery Hill Road in Cardwell, followed by a time of refreshments at the Cardwell School in Cardwell.
