Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
An open forum discussion with your local Montana Department of Revenue office will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2023, from 5 PM to 8 PM in the Whitehall City Courtroom at 2 North Whitehall Street. Virtual options are also available by visiting MTRevenue.gov/PADTownHalls for more information.
This meeting will help property owners understand their property assessment notice and how it can affect their property taxes.
The Department of Revenue mailed real property classifications and appraisal notices at the end of June. This notice does not serve as a tax bill, it only includes the Department’s determination of the market value for your property for tax years 2023 and 2024. It is important that property owners review this notice and review the information about their property characteristics at Property.MT.gov.
It is also important to understand that even if your notice indicates that your property’s market value has increased over the past two years, this does not necessarily mean that your property taxes will go up the same percentage. If you’d like to better understand your appraisal notice and learn how the taxation process works, join the Montana Department of Revenue at the public forum to get your questions answered.
