Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Between the Stacks: 6/14/2023

Our Summer Feeding program began on June 12th, but I wanted to remind everyone that there are free lunches at the Library every day, Monday through Thursday from 11:30 AM to 1 PM. This year Action, Inc. has included breakfast snacks as well as lunch in the bags. Just stop by and pick up breakfast and lunch for any child under the age of 18.

Next week will be a busier week than usual at the Library. Monday starts us off with Curiosity Untamed at 1 PM and Rockhounding at 5:30 PM. The Rockhounders will be discussing their field trip from last week and planning future adventures. Feel free to bring things for show and tell to share with everyone else.

Tuesday will begin our Whitehall Job Club for teens at 11 AM. Montana VRBS will be providing information on appropriate behaviors at a job interviews, communication skills, mock job interviews, work habits and ethics, job applications and paperwork, and wrap up day. If you would like to be a part of this program, contact the Library at 287-3763 for more information.

Then at 2 PM we will be hosting Glam Day for girls in their teens. Kristi Wilson will be here showing everyone different ways to apply makeup as well as good skin care techniques. There is no cost, and this is a great chance to get some super ideas for a new summer look.

Mystery Book club follows at 5 PM for anyone who loves a good whodunit! Just bring a list of all the mysteries you have read this month to share with others, then everyone leaves with a great month’s worth of reading.

Wednesday is the PUPPET SHOW with Markie Scholz at 10:30 AM. This is always a wonderful performance, but it is a full house so make sure you arrive a little early. Markie always does an amazing job writing her own scripts to match our theme.

Thursday will be a special night for everyone as Arlene Weber is coming to the Library to let us in on the Mysteries of Whitehall at 6PM. She will be recalling the history of ghosts, murders, and other mystery themed events which took place here in the past. Arlene has given a number of wonderful talks in town, and you don’t want to miss this one!

Our preschool Storytime will be on Friday at 10:30 AM for children birth to kindergarten. Stories, crafts, games, music, and science are included to entertain and fascinate our littles readers.

For more information on programs or Summer Reading, just stop by the Library to pick up a calendar or give us a call at 287-3763.
