Cancer Connection Support Group Offered by St. James

St. James’ The Cancer Connection Support Group is a support group that meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month. The group is a place for survivors, current patients, family members, friends, and community members who have ever had a connection to cancer. Cancer can have an overwhelming impact on all involved, and we aim to build an escape from the feeling of isolation a cancer diagnosis can create. Additionally, group attendees receive more information on community resources, including exercise classes, education, and family programming.

As a way for people to get a quick introduction to the support group, the Cancer Center is hosting a Community is Stronger than Cancer Day Social on June 28th at 5:30 pm in the Cancer Center Courtyard.

We are asking people to come to celebrate cancer survivorship! If you have been touched by cancer, you and your loved ones are invited to join St. James for a “Backyard BBQ” with drinks and desserts. In addition to the food, there will be yard games and raffle prizes. Additionally, you will learn about new resources and how we are working to give patients a common support system. Get to know the support staff at the St. James Cancer Center and meet new faces sharing a similar journey.
