Class of 2023 Awarded Over $250K in Scholarships

Class of 2023: you have experienced a high school career unlike any other. Since your freshman year you have experienced change and uncertainty at times when it came to your school experience. You rolled with it and continued to better yourselves throughout. The ability to go with the flow and focus on working to become graduates despite all the chaos is truly something to be proud of. Congratulations graduating class of 2023! Best of luck in the future and Go Trojans!

Dorothy Shaw Memorial Scholarship: Mrs. Shaw's family established this scholarship to recognize the Whitehall School seniors for academic achievement; a 3.0 GPA or higher who have 15 credits from English, Social Studies, Math, Science, or Foreign Language. Maxine Hoagland

Magris Talc USA Scholarship: An award meant to honor to Whitehall graduating seniors who have shown outstanding achievement in academics, extracurricular activities, and community service/activities; based on student merit and financial need equally. Michael Reiff, $1000

Whitehall Garden Club Scholarship: An award meant to honor a graduate pursuing 2 or 4 year, or trade-related degrees; students were scored on their academics as well as involvement in the community. Maxine Hoagland, $1000

Tia Kober Scholarship: Mrs. Kober was an educator in the Whitehall School District for 38 years. This scholarship supports WHS graduates pursuing a career in education, a medical field, or STEM program. Gavin Watson

Mary Ann M. Larsen Memorial Scholarship: Mrs. Larsen was the Whitehall School Secretary for 35 years. She was involved in the lives of students from freshmen to their senior years; this scholarship hopes to propel a student into their future. Maxine Hoagland

Whitehall Country Store Scholarship: Awardees receive $5000 awarded equally over 2 semesters; meant to honor academics and outside activities while also focusing on career goals. Blake DuBois, Maxine Hoagland, Michael Reiff, Gavin Watson

Sacry Scholarship: $1,000 scholarship was established to honor Carroll and Cora Sacry in recognition of the influence the Sacry family has had for more than 60 years at WHS. Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher, 3 years of sports, or 2 years in sports and one in band. Maxine Hoagland, Michael Reiff

Sandra Harper Hunt Memorial Scholarship: Mr. Ron Hunt, a 1954 WHS alumni established this $1,000 annual scholarship in 2017 to honor his late wife. This scholarship recognizes community service and volunteerism. Maxine Hoagland

Trustee Scholarship Carroll College. Nick Denny, $84,000

Montana Advantage Grant. Nick Denny, $9,797

Free tuition at any Montana school from the National Guard. Kyle Denny

2023 International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Scholarship Program. Lane Chase

Richard and Cheri A. Cox Direct Admit Scholars recipient. Lane Chase

MUS STEM/Healthcare scholarship: $6000 renewable scholarship. Gavin Watson
