Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
The Great Library Treasure Mystery is open for registration at the Library on June 1st. The rules are simple: readers receive prizes for every ten footprints completed. In order to fill in a footprint one must read for 15 minutes to someone else or to themselves. The program is open to anyone birth to 120 years old and registration sheets are for the entire family this year. This will save parents or guardians of multiple readers from having to fill out individual forms. The calendar is all set for June and available at the front desk. Readers can count anything they read: books, audiobooks, magazines, graphic novels, books on CD, etc. There are three levels of prizes and readers may progress at their speed.
Summer Feeding will begin June 12th and serving will begin at 11:30 AM. There is no sign-up required, we just have the opportunity to provide free lunches to children in Whitehall and help parents with the high cost of food. The Summer Feeding program will run until the end of the Summer Reading Program on July 27th.
All of the major summer reading programs will be on Wednesdays at 10:30 AM. Everyone is welcome to attend whether they are in the summer reading program or not. All supplies are provided by the Library and there is never a cost to participate.
Open Painting is making a return on Thursday afternoons at 3 PM. The Library has watercolors, acrylic painting sets, and lots of blank paper. If you like to paint and just want a little practice or to learn a few new hints, this is the spot for you!
We will be having a special Musical Storytime on Friday, June 2 at 10:30 AM. Ron Jung will be singing and playing his guitar alongside our youngest readers. Storytime will retain its Friday spot for the warmer months and will feature a variety of different programs.
Calling all rockhounds! The Rockhounding group is planning a special field trip on June 12th at 5 PM with a follow-up meeting on June 19th. This is a great opportunity to learn the joys and etiquette of collecting rocks in Montana. The group meets on the third Monday evening of the month at 5:30 PM at the Library. Feel free to bring show and tell to share with everyone.
Make sure to pick up a June calendar so you can save the dates for Middle School Madness, Mysteries of Whitehall with Arlene Weber, Glam Day, and Mystery Trivia Night! There is always something new going on at your Library, check us out!
