Between the Stacks: 4/26/2023

This Friday is our celebration of Arbor Day with Deanna Mydland! We are so excited to have her come as she spends the day doing all three story times and extra programming for the older kids in the afternoon. Feel free to stop by at 9:30 AM, 10:30 AM, or 1 PM for Story Time or anytime in the afternoon until 4 for older children. Homeschoolers may bring their families all together during any of the programs. As always, craft supplies will be provided, and the programs are free to everyone at the Library.

May will be a slower month at the Library as we will be preparing for summer reading. Our mystery theme is going to keep everyone busy searching for clues and the programs will be centered around different mysteries and crime-solving techniques. You will even see our mascot turn from the normal mountain climbing scenes to a trench coat and fedora as the case unfolds. The Summer Feeding program was such a success last year that we will be providing it again during the months of June and July.

You may notice how beautiful the carpets look if you stop by this week. Thank you to the Friends of the Library who funded the cleaning and spent two weekends moving furniture and moving it back! The wear and tear from so many patrons every day make the carpets a real priority in keeping the Library clean and safe for everyone.

Library staff is popping in and out to grab a little vacation time before the summer programming starts. Do not worry, they are all still here, just having a little time off after our busy winter season. The volunteer staff have been fantastic as they fill in for absent staff members and help keep the regular staff available for more difficult duties. We have a few more volunteers now so feel free to stop in and say hello to them!

May calendars will be out by the end of the week. The June calendars will be out by the middle of May as I know many of you are already asking what is going on this summer. I am signing contracts and securing program personalities, so the calendar is not quite set yet. Be sure it will be packed as always with fun things to do and experience.
