Skogen Serves as Page at 68th Legislative Session

The Montana Legislature offers a unique opportunity for young people to participate in the legislative process through its Legislative Page Program. Whitehall Trojan junior Isaac Skogen is currently serving as a page for the 68th Legislative session on April 17-21 in Helena. Skogen is sponsored by Representative Walsh.

Page applicants are juniors and seniors in high school who are at least 16 years old. Pages perform a variety of duties under the supervision of the Page Supervisor. Their duties include assisting legislators and House and Senate staff by running errands, delivering messages, and distributing bills, amendments, and other official documents. Pages also have the rare privilege of working on the floor of the House or Senate in the midst of legislative action. Pages serve for one week and are paid minimum wage.

Skogen is the definition of a true Whitehall Trojan, having sustained the high honor roll throughout high school and being inducted into the National Honor Society. Skogen has served on the student council throughout his high school career and is currently the Junior class President.

A Trojan athlete as well, Skogen has competed in wrestling and golf, as well as track and field. He was a state qualifier in wrestling his sophomore year and a state placer his junior year. Outside of school, he enjoys camping, dirt bike riding, snowboarding, jet skiing, and spending time with family and friends.

Skogen plans to attend Montana Tech in Butte, Montana after graduation in May. He intends to major in mechanical engineering.
