Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
It was a busy, well-attended, and productive meeting of the Whitehall Chamber of Commerce, held Thursday, March 9th at the Borden’s conference room. Over a dozen were in attendance to give their feedback on the many upcoming events of the Whitehall Chamber of Commerce.
If you have any Whitehall Chamber Bucks lying around, now is the time to cash them in. The program, which offers “Bucks” to be used like gift certificates to local Chamber Businesses, is in the process of being revamped by the Whitehall Chamber. New Chamber bucks will be issued for the first time during the Whitehall Easter Egg & Scavenger Hunt. Old Chamber Bucks may be redeemed until April 15th at participating Chamber businesses. An explanation sheet of how to redeem spent Bucks will be sent to Chamber members shortly. All Chamber members are expected to accept Chamber Bucks unless discussed with the Chamber and an exemption is requested.
Speaking of the Whitehall Easter Egg Hunt, April 1st is just around the corner and the Whitehall Chamber is still looking for business and personal sponsors for candies and prizes. Many thanks to Philip Dooley of Expedition Church and his crew of college students who assisted in putting together and stuffing over 2,000 eggs this weekend! Businesses - if you are interested in donating or being a location on the Scavenger Hunt, please contact Chiara at the Whitehall Chamber Office at 406-287-2260 as soon as possible.
The April Business After Hours will be held on Thursday, April 13th at 6 PM and will be hosted by River Ranch Confections. The After Hours will be in the home of Ruth Lott and feature several other businesses, including White Hat Tech Solutions and Raven’s 3D Printing. Directions to the River Ranch will be included in the April newsletter. A short general meeting with brief updates will be held at 6 PM, with the remainder of the time used for networking.
The Whitehall Chamber Board of Directors has decided to end the Black Tie Blue Jeans fundraiser as we currently know it, instead working to focus their mission less on fundraising and more on member benefits. In a letter mailed to fiscal sponsor Jefferson Valley Community Foundation, the Board stated: “After much deliberation, the Board of Directors of the Whitehall Chamber of Commerce has decided to no longer offer the annual Black Tie Blue Jeans fundraiser to the Whitehall community.
“As recent fundraisers have tapped out the community, specifically this year, we feel it is especially appropriate to begin this as of 2023.
“The Chamber would like to thank the JVCF for serving as the fiscal sponsor of Black Tie Blue Jeans in past years and hope to continue a great working relationship with the organization in the future. Thank you for your time, knowledge, and support.”
The Chamber will be working on grants to assist in funding the Chamber, as well as planning a Volunteer Appreciation event and fundraiser for the late summer.
