Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
Starting on March 12th, Girl Scouts around the world are celebrating Girl Scout Week and the 111th anniversary of the founding of the Girl Scouts organization. For those who are unfamiliar with Girl Scouts, it's an organization that empowers girls to develop leadership skills, build character, and make a positive difference in their communities and the world.
Girl Scouts was founded in 1912 by Juliette Gordon Low, who believed that girls should have the same opportunities as boys to develop leadership skills and participate in outdoor activities. Since then, Girl Scouts has grown into a global organization with millions of members in over 100 countries.
Girl Scout Week is a time for Girl Scouts to celebrate their organization and its mission. Troops across the country are celebrating Girl Scout Week in a variety of ways, from hosting birthday parties to participating in service projects. In Whitehall, Montana, Troop 3719 is planning to participate in Girl Scout Sunday at Trinity United Methodist Church and take part in the Virtual Birthday Party hosted by Girl Scouts of Montana and Wyoming on Monday, March 13th.
One of the unique aspects of Girl Scouts is that it offers girls the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities, from camping and hiking to STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) programs and community service projects. Girl Scouts also offers a variety of badges and awards that girls can earn to recognize their achievements and to develop new skills.
Girl Scouts is open to girls from kindergarten through high school, and there are opportunities for girls of all ages and backgrounds to get involved. Whether it's through joining a troop or participating in a Girl Scout program or event, Girl Scouts provides a supportive and empowering environment for girls to develop their potential.
As we celebrate the 111th Anniversary of Girl Scouts, we reflect on the incredible impact that this organization has had on girls and women for over a century. Girl Scouts has helped millions of girls to build confidence, develop leadership skills, and to make a positive impact in their communities and the world.
Here's to another century of Girl Scouts and to the girls and women who are building a better world through their participation in this incredible organization. If you would like more information, contact Troop Leader, Chiara at 406-600-9462, and don't worry, cookies will be here soon!
