Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
With all of the discussion about fake news and the influence of the media, the Library will be hosting a program with Mike Dennison, whose specialty is Montana politics and state government. As part of the Holocaust Project, he will be at the Library on Wednesday, March 15 at 1 PM. He will be discussing the effects of the media on the Holocaust and other modern events. This program is free and open to the public.
The first notices for summer blockbuster books are starting to come in and I will be placing preorders for many favorite authors. Until then don't forget the Friends of the Library book sale which is open during regular library hours. Paperback books are for sale at ten cents a book while hardbacks are only twenty cents a volume. The Friends are always looking for volunteers to help sort donations and organize the shelves so buyers can easily find what they are looking for. If you would like to help sort and organize the book sale, please stop by the front desk and let us know.
The staff has begun planning the Summer Reading Program. This year our theme is "The Great Library Treasure Mystery" and clues will abound. We are excited about the programs revolving around solving the mystery and looking for clues everywhere. It should be a fun summer of detectives, fingerprinting, clue-solving, and special guests.
The STEM campers had a wonderful time making lava lamps with Miss Brandi. This program takes place every other Friday and is open to anyone. They explore all types of science, technology, engineering, and math through practice experiments and projects. Parents are always on hand to help with the younger ones so it is a great time for all.
