COUSIN CLEAVON'S REDNECK COOKING: Blue Booby and Waffles

Due to the fact that chicken prices are increasing, we needed to find an alternative meat. A wonderful reader emailed me about this problem.

Dizzy Izzy lives off the coast of the Pacific Ocean. She recently noticed an increase of the nuisance Blue-footed Booby. The birds flood the coast and poop and make noise 24/7. Due to the fact they only lay one egg at a time, they are not a substitute for egg laying chickens.

Izzy explained she didn't start out to kill the booby, but wanted to chase them away. At first she used a paintball gun. It worked for a little bit, but people started to notice red marks on the birds. The fish and wildlife were called. So, Izzy needed to change her method.

She got an air cannon next. The first time she set it off, two birds fell over dead! She felt so bad and was so upset, but she did not want the meat to go to waste. So, she brought it into her cottage and stripped the bird.

Izzy really did not know how to cook the meat, so she did what every normal person does. Flip through a cookbook until you come upon a recipe that sounds good. Izzy stopped on chicken and waffles.

Come to find out, blue-footed booby is an alternative to chicken. Please do not be turned off by the blue color of the meat.

INGREDIENTS:

One Blue-footed Booby

2 cups of pancake mix

2 eggs (if lucky blue footed booby eggs, if not, duck or chicken eggs work)

2 cups milk

3 cups flour

Maple syrup

Salt and pepper

1 Tablespoon vanilla

5 cups of frying oil (any type you want, but coconut oil would show respect for the bird's homeland)

DIRECTIONS:

1. Cut off the legs and thighs of the bird. Wash in cold water. Mix up one egg and one cup of milk in one bowl and the flour and salt and pepper in another bowl.

2. Get the oil on the stove in a deep-frying pan. When the oil is hot enough. Dip the bird legs into the milk bowl, then the flour bowl. Do that twice. Then place the bird legs into the oil and cook until golden brown. Remove and put on a plate with paper towels.

3. Time to make the waffles. In a bowl, mix one egg, one cup milk, pancake mix, and vanilla. Then place onto a hot waffle iron and wait until golden brown.

4. When done making the fried booby and waffle. Place onto a nice plate and top with maple syrup.

Footnote: The blue webbed feet make for interesting conversation as a centerpiece on the dinner table and distracts people from being on the web on their phones.

Bon Appetit!! PS...these recipes are not verified, but if you give them a try, please let us know how they go!
