Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
Surrounded by his family, Loren Steven Willet passed away on January 8th, 2023, at the age of 66 after a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer.
Loren was born July 16th, 1956, to Harvey and Leona Willet. Loren grew up in Washington, but after a short stint in the Marine Corps as a young man, he moved to Montana, which he called home. Loren was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and trapping with his long-time hunting buddy, Ren Beyer.
One of Loren's favorite things to do was salmon fishing on the Columbia River. He also spent the last 20 years having countless adventures and eating coconut shrimp with his partner, Tobi Potter.
For those that knew him, Loren was considered kind, charismatic, and "such a great guy." His optimism and good nature were always contagious, even till the very end. During his time getting treatment, he unsurprisingly won over every doctor and nurse he encountered and held a uniquely special place in the hearts of those who cared for him. He was endlessly proud of his children and grandchildren and lit up whenever he talked about them or was in their presence.
He is survived by his mother, Leona; long-time partner, Tobi Potter, brothers, Jack and Lester Willet (and families); three children, Erin, Brett (Ariana), and Kaci (Alex); and four grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Harvey. His family and friends will deeply and forever miss him.
