Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
The Whitehall Lady Trojans took on two strong teams in the past week, first taking on the Townsend Bulldogs on Thursday, January 12. The Trojans defeated the Bulldogs 41-31, a great conference win for the Ladies. The team was led by senior Maxine Hoagland with 15 and junior Lindsay Briggs with 10; a total of eight girls scored during the game.
“The girls kept fighting and eventually pulled away,” said Lady Trojan basketball coach Kelly Nieskens.
On Friday, January 13 the Lady Trojans took on the Loyola Sacred Heart Breakers and lost 60-14.
“They are a good team in the West, but we didn’t come focused and ready to play,” Nieskens said. “Our team’s biggest obstacle right now is translating what we do in practice to games.”
The Lady Trojans next take on the Anaconda Copperheads on Thursday, January 19 in the Whitehall Varsity Gym.
The Trojan boys basketball team also played Townsend Bulldogs on Thursday, defeated 58-46 in a hard-fought game. They took on the Loyola Sacred Heart Rams Friday, losing 72-23.
