Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
I wanted to update everyone on what has been going on with the Whitehall Schools PTSA. Our goal this year is to be more involved in community events and bring the community together with lasting memories. Since our first meeting for the year in September, we realized we had BIG ideas for our small town. We knew this would mean a lot of fundraising. Our first fundraiser was small but more or less about being involved. We joined in on the organization and planning of the fall festival carnival. We raised over $100 that day with games but most important we provided fun and candy for the kids of our community.
During our November meeting, we discussed and voted for a larger fundraiser. We also had heard about the school's Angel Tree, which helps local families over the holiday season. The PTSA voted to donate $300 to help with their cause.
A fundraiser opportunity was brought to the PTSA by Jessica Shea who sells Scentsy; the stipulation of selling her product was her donating her entire commission. Students sold $4,758.50 in products, raising $1427.55. For every item sold the students got their names in a raffle to win Chamber Bucks. Two winners won $25 and two more won $50. Congratulations to James Webber, Maxwell Rooney, Ty McLean, and Letty Wilkinson. We greatly appreciate every person who helped this fundraiser be a successful one. The PTSA also was rewarded $700 in products which were spent on teacher appreciation gifts and gifts that will be added to our Holiday Shop for the 2023 season. More info for the Holiday Store will be coming soon.
The December PTSA meeting will be held at the Elementary Conference Room on Tuesday, December 6 at 3:30 PM.
Our next event will be Wednesday, December 21st. The PTSA teamed up with 21st CCLC to sponsor a movie night at the Star Theatre. We will be playing Home Alone. There will be donated dinners as well as holiday activities. Doors open at 4:30 PM. The show starts at 6 PM. We hope to see everyone there.
