Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
Last week, schools around the country participated in activities such as door-decorating contests, art contests, dress-up days, and classroom educational activities. The activities were done in support of The Red Ribbon Campaign, the oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation. It reaches millions of students during Red Ribbon Week, usually celebrated from October 23rd through October 31st each year.
Red Ribbon Week is sponsored by National Family Partnership and was created in 1985 to help children, families, and communities be safe, healthy, and drug-free.
Each year there is a national theme. This year's theme was: "CELEBRATE LIFE. LIVE DRUG-FREE"! Students in Jefferson County used this national theme to create door art to spread the message about being healthy and living drug-free and they enjoyed fun dress-up themes such as wear RED day, 80's day, hat day, camo day, and costume day to celebrate their desire for safe drug-free communities.
